50s Sock Hop Icebreaker Games
Poodle skirts, doo wop classics, juke boxes, and saddle back shoes; if you feel utmost happiness at the thought of these things then a 50s doo wop party would be right up your alley (or even, right up your drive-in!). When your guests come to listen and dance to great 50s music as well as dine on great soda fountain fare like cheeseburgers and malted milk shakes, it's a fun idea to have a fun game as an icebreaker. Especially when you have a group that's meeting for the first time and aren't so familiar with each other. Since hula hoops were all the rage in the 1950s, a fun idea is to have a hula hoop contest. Just divide all of the participants into two teams. One person in each team competes to see who can hula hoop the longest. Have a judge on hand to see who wins each round. Each round won scores the team one point. Whoever has the most points at the end of the hula hoop-off wins! Give your guests fun prizes like themed key chains and magnets, or even a CD collection of 1950s doo wop music. Besides the prizes, everyone will have fun laughing and remembering that hula hooping is just as fun as it was back then!
Also there are a great variety of printable party games and puzzles on this site that would be great for a 50s doo wop party. They're sure to keep your guests entertained and having a blast.
