Construction Icebreaker Games

If your child loves big dump trucks, noisy jackhammers, and wearing hard hats, then it might be time for a construction party! Let your little's one's inner construction worker come alive within all the fun of a birthday party. To help all your guests become acquainted with one another, play an icebreaker game of Dig Dug, a game where memorizing names will help you win the prize. Choose one child to be “It.” Then have everyone else sit in a circle (with their construction hats on of course!). The the kids to take a minute or two to learn the name of the person sitting to their left and right. Tell them that the person sitting to their left is “Dig,” and the person sitting to their right is “Dug.” The person who is “It” points to the first person and says either “Dig” or “Dug,” then counts to five. The person must name the person either on their left or right, depending on if “Dig” or “Dug” was called. If they guess correctly, “It” moves on to the next person. If they guess wrongly, or can't guess by the time “It” reaches five, then that person becomes “It.” This game is great for getting everyone acquainted with one another.
