Party Activities
Fun activities for Flag Day include attending parades, playing baseball, and even visiting with veterans.
Flag Day Party Colors
Everyone loves a party, especially one which shows patriotism. Flag Day is traditionally celebrated with parties and observances which are red, white, and blue.
Party Favors
Miniature flags, patriotic leis, and even patriotic necklaces and beads make for great Flag Day party favors. Some party hosts also give out red, white and blue colored LED sunglasses to their guests.
Flag Day Party Supplies
Patriotic table cloths and even festive flag centerpieces are a definite must have when it comes to party supplies for Flag Day. Another hit favorite as far as party supplies goes is streamers and table skirts.
Party Balloons
When it comes to Flag Day balloons there are always several to choose from. There are of course regular plain balloons and then there are balloons in the shape of stars.
Flag Day Party Banners
Banners help to bring about more holiday cheer and also help to create a more centered party environment. Flag Day banners can be purchased to look like an exact replica of the American flag except they have special writing on them which reads “Happy Flag Day.”
Crafts
Fun crafts for Flag Day include making star shaped cookies and even star shaped Jell-O jigglers. Also another fun craft would be to make bookmarks in the shape of rockets and color them with patriotic colors to replicate the American flag.
Flag Day Educational Activities
Did you know that each color of the flag has a meaning? A fun educational activity would be to learn what each color means while using them in a craft like coloring a picture of the flag or even attending a parade.
Party Foods
Gram cracker flags, star shaped cookies, and even pound cake with whipped cream mixed with blueberries and strawberries make great patriotic party foods.
Flag Day Party Songs
Songs such as “America the Beautiful” and “When the Saints go marching in” are songs which ever patriotic holiday celebration can’t go on without. Another absolute must for Flag Day would also be the reading of “The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere”.
Party Venue
Flag Day celebrations are much like any other patriotic holiday. There are certain festivities such as the shooting off of fireworks and parades which require outdoor venues. Imprinted banners and posters do excellent Flag Day decorations. Flag Day events should have many of the white, blue and red colors present to really acknowledge the festivity. Have many snacks and good food for everyone to enjoy accompanied by party supplies to give the event character and a great atmosphere.
