Harry Potter Icebreaker Games

Harry Potter theme party is an awesome way to celebrate a young fans favorite wizard. Harry Potter printables, trivia games, treasure hunt, Quidditch, and even homemade potions are excellent ice breaker games in which children can group together and have some fun. Outdoor Harry Potter parties offer a wider variety of games that can be played as well.

British Bulldog (like sharks an minnows) but since Harry Potter speaks with an English accent British Bulldogs is more appropriate. All the players line up on one end of the party area. Five players are in the middle and they are the bulldogs. At that point all of the players run from one side of the field to the other. The bulldogs are trying to capture the players before they get to the other side. To capture a player, the bulldogs must lift the player off the ground completely and while they are in the air say 1-2-3 British Bulldog. Bulldogs can team up in order to lift a player off the ground. If a player is captured, they then become bulldogs. The last player or players who do not get captured are the winners.

Wizard Wand Name game starts with all players in a circle. The party hosts calls out one of the names of someone in the circle. The person who gets called tries to duck quickly. The two people on either side of him or her turn towards that person and make a wizard wan zapping motion and sound. If the player fails to duck in time, they get zapped and are eliminated from the circle. If they do duck in time, whichever of the two wizards who zapped last is out.
