Memorial Day Facts Memorial Day falls on May 31st and is considered to be a federal holiday in the United States. This day is set aside in order to observe in remembrance all of the fallen soldiers who dies for others freedom. Party Colors Since the United States of America’s flag is red white and blue, so are the colors which are used for Memorial Day. These colors are used together to represent the country in which soldiers died to protect and also shows honor to them as well as serves a way of remembrance. Memorial Day Party Decorations Sparklers atop brilliant colored picnic tables and cloths of red and white with blue trim are often used to decorate table tops on this holiday. Bouquets made up of red roses, blue violets, and baby’s breaths are also used as centerpieces and party decorations. Party Location On Memorial Day many families decide to have cookouts in the park or even their own backyards. This gives them the chance to enjoy the freedom which was through others sacrifices. Memorial Day Party Foods Foods such as hotdogs and hamburgers are often served at Memorial Day Parties. Researching all of the American wars dating back to the civil war and World War 2 would be a great educational activity. Sometimes people even make timelines for it to show where in history a particular event occurred. A great Memorial Day party is one in where party supplies are in abundance. Decorate this special day with many red roses, candles and of course flags.
