Red Hat Icebreaker Games
A Red Hat party is a grand celebration of seasoned, spirited women who just love to cut loose and have fun; and nothing could be more enjoyable than some great ice breaker games.
The Red Hat Fill in the Blank, an example of Printed Party Games which could be played at a Red Hat party, tests guests’ knowledge of the Red Hat Ladies, their practices and their traditions. Guests could pair up to fill in the blanks, using printed sheets emblazoned with images of red hats and the wonderful ladies who wear them. Clues could include “Red Hat Ladies wear (purple) dresses,” “The leader of a Red Hat Society Chapter is known as the Queen (Mother),” “The creation of the Red Hat Society was inspired by a poem called (Warning) by Jenny Joseph,” etc. As teams work together to complete these phrases, members will get to know each other—and the Red Hat Society as a whole—a lot better.
Another ice breaker game at a Red Hat party could be “I wear a red hat because….” In this activity, each guest could be challenged to reveal as to why they joined the famous Red Hat Society. Possible answers could include “At the age of 65 I feel younger than I ever have,” “After my husband passed away, I was seeking a fun and constructive activity to keep my mind off of things,” “I’ve always loved to kick up my heels,” etc. As each woman shares her reason for belonging to the Red Hat Society, she will be sharing a very important part of herself with other Red Hatters.
