Seventies Icebreaker Games
The seventies were a fun, colorful decade; one you can capture perfectly at a sensational Seventies party, and with the help of some totally funky ice breaker games.
Seventies Serenade is a karaoke-style ice breaker game which challenges each guest to belt out a verse of a hit song from the seventies—and in the style of the performer who first sang it. A male might belt out a high-pitched rendition of Stayin’ Alive by the Bee Gees, while a female guest might sweetly sing “If You Love Me, Let Me Know” by Olivia Newton-John. A group of guests might belt out “Waterloo” or “Dancing Queen” by Abba. Following each song, the guest who performed it could state why this song is their favorite from the seventies. Reasons could range from “I played this song at my wedding” to “I danced to this song on my 18th birthday” to “This song just screams ‘seventies.’”
Printable Party Games at a Seventies party could include The Seventies Scramble; a printed word scramble which includes words and phrases that one associates with this decade. These could include adjectives like cool and groovy, the names of era icons such as Jimmy Carter and Gloria Steinem, TV shows like Charlie’s Angels, Saturday Night Live and Happy Days, movie titles like Saturday Night Fever and Grease, movie stars such as John Travolta, etc. Guests could work in teams to complete The Seventies Scramble, all the while sharing their own special memories from this truly magical decade.
